Troubleshooting Guide
I’m getting a check engine light after installing the PROFLEX Commander wiring harness
If your vehicle is showing a check engine light (CEL) immediately after installation and before you plug in the PROFLEX Commander control unit, this indicates that the PROFLEX Commander harness has been installed improperly or has been damaged in some way. Please use a vehicle code reader to scan your vehicle and see what codes are appearing and continue with the troubleshooting process.
If the codes reveal a misfire on one or more cylinders, please check the harness connections for those cylinders and make sure the connectors are fully together. This can be done by gently unplugging the connectors then re-connecting them until the connector locking mechanism engages (typically you will hear a click sound). After doing this, please clear you vehicle’s codes and then start the car to see if the CEL returns.
If the check engine light returns and the misfire codes appear again, please contact us to arrange shipping in your PROFLEX Commander harness for inspection.
